Whispering Waters Cottage is the lovely garden level suite of a new 4 season home. The sunny backyard is surrounded by trees providing privacy. Just around the corner is the Church-Key Brewery Pub – a fun place to eat & try out the local brew. Ten minutes further down the road is Campbellford’s World Famous Chocolate Factory. Campbellford is the home of the award winning Empire Cheese, Westben Festival Theatre and restaurants, a Cinema and shopping. Don’t miss Dooher’s Bakery while you’re in town! Peterborough is less than 1 hour away.

Enter the cottage to warm and lovely open room including the kitchen, eating area and comfortable livingroom all with a view of the lake. Traditional cottage comfort includes soft sofas, chairs to stretch out on and a wood stove for cool evenings. Take a leisurely paddle on Weslemkoon or make a brief portage into a lake of your own. Bring your own boat and enjoy the excellent fishing. Dive off the end of the dock into deep clear waters. Or stretch out on the deck and soak up the sunshine and calm of a warm summer day. There are two kayaks, a canoe, and an inflatable row boat for you and your family to enjoy during your stay at this cottage.

A sand beach slopes gently into the water, deepening gradually. The large backyard offers sun and shade whichever you prefer. It will be a pleasure to make and serve meals in the large well-equipped kitchen and dining room. And cosy up on soft couches around the large flat screen TV. Fun events in the area include the famous Havelock Country Jamboree in August. A beautiful place to be anytime of year – come back this winter to enjoy family fun any time of year!

Located on the York River which winds its way from Baptiste Lake, past Bancroft. A beautiful river to paddle and fish. At the shoreline, wade in on a sand bottom to swim in the summer shallow waters. The cottage is whimsically decorated with a good eye for beauty. Comfortable chairs sit near the fireplace, a large kitchen dining area brings the family together. The cottage has been newly renovated with pine paneled walls and ceilings – but the full wall stone fireplace looks like it’s been there forever. A large back lawn slopes gently to the river and the firepit by the water. Be sure to visit Bancroft – wonderful entertainment and arts.

For whitewater enthusiasts there are several “waves” nearby. Swim at the cottage waterfront or at the campground sand beach. Inside, the River Cottage is traditional and well maintained with fans and an air conditioning unit for the upstairs bedrooms. A balcony offers a private spot to view the river and enjoy your morning coffee. A screened verandah is a lovely spot to have a meal or retire to at dusk. Set up your croquet set on the large grassy area. Marmora is a 5 minute walk across the bridge for dining or shopping. Make this your summer vacation home – you won’t be the first!

Visit Crowe Valley just a few minute walk from Marmora – shopping and an icecream parlour. Garden Cottage, completely renovated inside with staircase balcony to the rooms upstairs. New beds and ceiling fans throughout will guarantee a good night’s rest. Take a walk in several acres of woodland along the shoreline of the river. Bring your kayak and enjoy several great whitewater waves in the area. At evening time, sit around your campfire and say ‘good evening’ to your neighbours heading for an evening stroll on the beach.

Lounge on one of two decks overlooking the lake, take the kayaks for a quiet paddle. Prepare your morning coffee with a cool lake breeze wafting the kitchen curtains and then take it down to the lakeshore to watch the morning mist rise. Walk in for a morning dip on a gradually deepening sand bottom. Check out what is happening at the skate park, just inside Madoc limits – many summer events are held here. Evenings can be spent by the fire pit overlooking the lake or inside sharing a board game by the gas fireplace. This cottage is the perfect place for family of four to spend a week or two.
